Joel leads the digital design team into web intensive projects as the Senior Digital Designer. His approach begins with extensive market research, where he curates trends and techniques. In collaboration with the technical development team, Joel encourages innovation both in design and function.

Awarded a full scholarship, Joel arrived in New York to immerse himself in the world-recognized pedigree of Parsons School of Design.

When an opportunity to design nation-wide campaigns for BBDO, Joel recognized his talent for user experience. Focused on customer behavior, websites for Pepsi, Pizza Hut, and the US Army realized their goals of attention, retention, and transaction. Pepsi required a website that was easy to navigate in order to tell the story of the simplicity of the logo – now as iconic as the original. Pizza Hut pioneered the online order process, from picking toppings to tracking delivery.

Joel applied practical, yet entertaining, design that engaged audiences throughout the visitor flow. US Army stands for recruitment like no other brand. The website stood for a value proposition that could change someone’s life – clear portrayal of the Army’s message was necessary on each page. Thoughtful consideration of web-centric design shaped the rest of Joel’s career.

At Touchstorm, all design is made in close proximity to technology. Joel avidly expanded his knowledge of front-end development by adding HTML5 and responsive design to his repertoire. Each campaign, as always, highlights each newly acquired skill. Joel has delivered websites and digital assets to forward-thinking clients, such as GoPro, Whole Foods, LG, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Notably, in 2013 Susan G. Komen for the Cure enlisted Joel and the Touchstorm team for a complete digital overhaul.

When not designing and coding, Joel paints and entertains his 3 children in his small New York apartment – always making the most of every occasion.
